Cylindrical Vase from the Series "Hunting": A Standing Hunter with a Bow and a Dog

1933

In Paris, the artist was fascinated by the beauty of nature and wildlife. Her favourite subjects were still lifes, hunting scenes, images of fish, animals and people in the fantastic landscape. A series of works called "Hunting", united by coloring and a picturesque-volumetric interpretation of images, is dedicated to the eternal theme of "human and nature." The images are placed in the background formed by dense green vegetation, covering the surface with a continious pattern. The artist captures the action  rapidly occurring. She uses long strokes that convey the impetuosity of animals, birds, and human movements. A talented master uses a dark outline, smoothly defining the characters. A large number of green shades enhance the effect of space depth in which heroes live. The work is performed in a free picturesque and decorative manner.
