The Queen of Wurttemberg (née Grand Duchess Ekaterina Pavlovna, 1788-1819) was the fourth daughter of Emperor Paul I and Maria Feodorovna and favourite sister of Emperor Alexander I. The Emperor of France, Napoleon had the intention to marry Grand Duchess Ekaterina Pavlovna. In accordance with her mother’s wish she got married to Duke George of Oldenburg who died on 12th December 1812. For the second time she married the Crown Prince William of Wurttemberg on 12th January 1816. In the same year, the Crown Prince became the King. She had two sons from the first marriage: Friedrich-Pavel-Alexander (1810-1829) and Prince Peter Georgievich of Oldenburg (1812-1881).
