The excursion in the temple named "The basics of the orthodox culture"

On May 26, the Church History Museum of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia was visited by students of Cheboksary School No. 56 with teacher Marina Yurievna Demokina. For the pupils of the 4 "I" class, who study the module "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" - this is not the first visit to the church. In December 2016, the children were able to get acquainted with the history of the emergence of Orthodoxy in Chuvashia, to examine in the windows antique items of church utensils and priestly vestments and to learn why the Temple has such a name.
For a new meeting in the excursion program, a conversation was organized with the artist icon painter Ivan Alexandrov, who painted the temple. Climbing the museum, the children also inspected the new tactile art installation "Chersonese Taurian". In the Virtual Branch of the Russian Museum, the young guests got acquainted with the iconography of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Brothers Cyril and Methodius, watched a wonderful film dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture.
The new module "Foundations of Orthodox Culture" has a culturological character. It is offered for all students who want to better understand Russian history, literature and art. For extracurricular activities on the subject of "the foundations of religious cultures and secular ethics" in the church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian city of Cheboksary, the resources of the Virtual Russian Museum, excursions to the Church and Historical Museum "Christian Enlightenment of the Chuvashia Territory", master classes on bell ringing and beading.
