GRINBERG Vladimir Arievich
1896, Rostov-on-Don — 1942, Leningrad
Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, watercolourist, illustrator, teacher. Studied at the Rostov-on-Don College of Commerce while simultaneously painting and drawing; studied in the Polytechnic Institute and New Studio in St Petersburg (from 1915). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1914). Member of the Union of Artists (1933). Taught at a school of art and workers’ school at the Rostov-on-Don University (1919–1922); Leningrad College of Art and Industry (1926–1927); Leningrad Institute of Communal Construction (1928–1941); Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1932–1933).
