ZABELLO Parmen Petrovich
1830, Monastyrishche, Nezhinsk District, Chernigov Province — 1917, Lausanne
Sculptor; author of portraits, historical genre and scenes from life. Studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1850–1854). Minor silver medal for his success in modelling (1854). Moved to Italy at his own expense, worked in Rome and Florence (1854–1872). Academician for works created in Italy (1869). Author of the headstone for Alexander Herzen (1873, Nice), monuments to Taras Shevchenko (1870–1871, Chernigov), Peter I (1875, Petersburg), Mikhail Lomonosov (1892, St Petersburg).
