The master used a large floral motive in the design of the key plate. The broad and flowing movement of the stem is emphasized by lush flowers’ forms of in the fancy pattern of the key plate that framed the keyhole. The generalized character of the ornament is achieved by the planar interpretation of the details, and the pass-through background reveals the pattern, its linearity and a clear silhouette.
