"The Lay of Igor's Campaign" is a famous piece of Kievan Rus literature written in the end of the 12^th century. The plot is based on the campaign of the Russian princes against the Polovtsi, undertaken in 1185 by Igor Svyatoslavich, Prince of Novgorod-Seversky.
