"The Lay of Igor's Campaign" is a famous piece of Kievan Rus literature written in the end of the 12th century. The plot is based on the campaign of the Russian princes against the Polovtsi, undertaken in 1185 by Igor Svyatoslavich, Prince of Novgorod-Seversky.
