Knuckle-bones (babki) is another popular traditional game. Babki were made out of the lower joints of the leg bones of cattle, as was the bat that was used to beat them with. The bat was often cast inside with lead. The babki were placed on the stake to form a hillock shape and then knocked down with the bat. The player who managed to knock the pyramid down with his first shot collected the most number of points. Play and Passion in Russian Fine Art. St-Petersburg. 1999. P. 106.
