The Multimedia Centre
Thanks to electronic technology the Russian Museum has opened access to the richest collection of Russian art from one of the largest museums of the world that is the property not only of St. Petersburg and Russia but also the world cultural heritage. The Multimedia Centre enables users to explore the collection of the Russian Museum, learn about restoration, conservation and attribution of works of art.
Here thanks to the multimedia games you can try being an artist, a restorer, a model for an artist, as well as take a tour into the painting’s space, attend a lecture, a creative meeting, a seminar, a conference or a round table and also communicate with the regions by video conference.
In 2013 the new website for mobile devices “The Russian Museum. The Augmented Reality” - rmgallery.ru was launched. The principle used in the mobile website is that of scanning a QR code at the exposition and immediately getting additional information. The mobile website, developed in Russian and English, is available to users of all mobile devices that have access to the Internet.
Further information on the Augmented Reality technology and history of the project is in this section.
