Painter; portraitist. Studied at the icon-painting studio of Trinity Lavra of St Sergius, then under Alexei Antropov in St Petersburg and later under Dmitry Levitsky. Appointed academician (1776), academician (1785). Copied paintings by Guido Reni, Pietro Testa, Jacopo Amigoni.
