Sculptor.
Born in a family of the sculptor A.P. Laveretsky. He studied at the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of the famous Russian sculptor N. S. Pimenov. Lived in Italy for a long time, where he diligently mastered the secrets of marble sculpture. For the marble sculptural group "Boy and Girl Feeding a Bird", sent from Italy in 1868, he received the title of academician. After returning to Russia in 1870, he taught at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1897, was dismissed "on the request".
Along with I. N. Schroeder, M. A. Chizhov, and G.R. Saleman took part in the creation of a grand sculptural project of the second half of the 19^th  century – "The Monument to the Millennium of Russia", built in Novgorod upon the project of M.O. Mikeshin. The Eastern part of the frieze, consisting of 26 pieces, called "State people", was executed by Laveretsky in keeping with the best traditions of Russian realism.
Among other famous works of the sculptor are the statues "First Rose", "Bathing Girl", "Trade", "Mephisto", "Modesty", "Rodopa", "Cupid and Psyche", a group "Little Coquettes", busts "Sappho", "Spring", "Capuchin", high relief "Angel", the monuments of M. I. Glinka, Catherine II, several portrait busts.
