The picture shows the artist himself, his wife Alexandra (nee Bogdanova), the wife's mother and the children Cronid, Yevgeny and Lydia. Its peculiarity is the combination of interior, landscape and group portrait. The bright colour, the detail of the furniture and the surroundings and the importance of the children's toys all convey an atmosphere of contentment and happiness.
