Приложение дополненной реальности Artefact

The mobile application of the Augmented Reality developed by the Ministry of culture of Russian Federation for museums of Russia enables the visitors using a smartphone to detect the museum’s objects and get further information on museum’s exhibits in the form of texts and images. The official presentation of the project took place in the Russian Museum in December, 2017.

Among 40 exhibits of the collection from the Russian Museum which are available in the Artefact application there are such masterpieces as “The Last Day of Pompeii” by Karl Brullov, “The Brazen Serpent” by Fidelio (Fyodor) Bruni, “The Ninth Wave” by Ivan Aivazovsky, “Taking a Snow Town” by Vasily Surikov, “Vladimir and Rogneda” by Anton Losenko and others. The bookmarks with further information as well as sketches, studies, photographs of the paintings during the restoration period appear when the user points the camera at the painting as well as at the distant work beyond the exposition.

At present 40 exhibits from the permanent collection of the Russian Museum as well as materials on the temporary exhibitions “Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin”, “Henryk Siemiradzki and Russian Artists’ Colony in Rome”, “Catherine the Great in Russia and Beyond” are available for visitors.
