The monumental panel "Pottery" is one of the first experiments of the Palekh decorative lacquer panels for the public interior. It used to adorn the foyer of the Lensovet Palace of Culture and then the panel was handed to the Russian Museum. The author, a hereditary Palekh icon painter, depicted all stages of pottery making, from clay mixing to the creation of ceramics and its sale, by means of the Palekh miniature.
