Tablet exhibition "Treasury of Russia - Russian Museum" in Ankara

From October 17 to 20, the Russian Museum, at the invitation of the Russian House in Ankara, presented the tablet exhibition “Treasury of Russia – Russian Museum” in the largest exhibition center ATO Congresium.

The annual ArtNova contemporary art fair in Ankara introduces a wide range of contemporary art, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, printing techniques and architectural projects. In addition to presenting collections of international galleries and museums, ArtNova also serves as a platform for universities, art schools and professional associations.

The tablet exhibition of the Russian Museum allowed the Turkish audience to present the main stages of the history of Russian art based on the museum’s painting collection – from icons to classics of Soviet painting.

Works by Ivan Aivazovsky, Karl Bryullov, Alexander Ivanov, Ilya Repin, Vasily Surikov, Orest Kiprensky, Dmitry Levitsky, Vladimir Borovikovsky, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Pavel Filonov, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Alexander Deineka and other artists were supplemented with QR codes, which can be used to see the works in the halls of the Russian Museum, read annotations and listen to audio guides.

A specially developed design of the exhibition tablets made it possible to emphasize the artistic expressiveness of the paintings without creating the effect of reproductions and without fitting different-scale and different-format works into the tablet format.

A multimedia film dedicated to the masterpieces of the Russian Museum of the 12th-20th centuries became a vivid figurative addition to the exhibition.

The tablet exhibition "Treasury of Russia - Russian Museum" was organized as part of the cooperation between the Russian Museum and the Russian House in Ankara under the project "Russian Museum: Virtual Branch".
