NERADOVSKY READINGS - 2022
The State Russian Museum invites you and your representatives to take part in the international scientific-practical conference “NERADOVSKY READINGS: Storing and Restoring Exhibitions in a Museum of Art. History, current state and prospects for development” (hereinafter referred to as “Conference”), which will be held in the suite of state rooms in the St. Michel’s Castle on the 25-29 of April, 2022 (2 Sadovaya Str., St. Petersburg).
The “NERADOVSKY READINGS” conference is named after Pyotr Ivanovich Neradovsky (1875–1962) – outstanding figure in museum activities, whose professional and personal life was inextricably linked with the Russian Museum for more than twenty years since 1909 and then, over the next three decades, with the Moscow, Moscow region and other important museums and restoration organizations. In 2022, the “NERADOVSKY READINGS” will be held for the eighth time to celebrate the Art Conservation Department 100th anniversary.
The target audience of the Conference are executives and employees of the art museums of Russia – museum custodians, employees of register and storage of museum objects departments, art conservators and restorers, climatologists, chemists, biologists, technologists and other specialist whose goal is to preserve the cultural heritage.
The papers for the 2022 Conference will be arranged according to the following sections:
- museum conservation and restoration of art: tradition and modernity
- technological advancements and methods of modern science in museum practice: climatology, lighting environment, chemical and biological research
- registration and storage of museum objects and collections in an art museum: past, present and future
- history and theory of restoration and storage in an art museum: research and memoirs, lives and stories.
At the Conference, we are planning to organize a series of discussion sessions, round tables, exhibition area, visits to art conservation departments. The papers from the Conference will be published in a collection of articles.
To participate in the Conference, we invite you to fill out the registration form no later than 1 February 2022.
