An Italian sculptor. Born in Veneto, his surname originates from the Italian word "tagliapietra", which means "stone cutter". A master of Venetian Baroque. The altar in the Chioggia Cathedral is his early work. The following works in Venice are also attributed to him: the figure of Christ on a façade (the church of San Salvador), the Crucifixion (the church of Santa Maria del'Rosario). He also performed park sculptures. His most prominent works are reliefs "The Presentation in the Temple" and "The Circumcision" (1730 – 1735, Cappella del Rosario in the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, or Zanipola, as it is called in Venice). The author of statue "Bellona" (around 1718) in the Summer Garden.
