This vase was exhibited at the First Manufacturing Exhibition in St Petersburg in 1829, demonstrating the high technical and artistic abilities of the Gardner Factory. The facial side contains a miniature depicting the Bolshoi Theatre. It is based on a lithograph by Carl Joachim Beggrow after a drawing by Karl Friedrich Sabath and Samuil Shiflyar (1820s). The reverse depicts Phoebes and the eagle. The top contains a seascape and a miniature after Angelica Kauffmann’s Omnia vincet amor.
