Tables in this style were very common in houses in St Petersburg during the time of Peter the Great, since this was a period of close interaction with Dutch culture. Such tables were made of oak and stood on massive carved legs with spherical thickenings; the table-top is inlaid with a star in bog-oak and has leaves that slide out from under it.
