The old clay glazed whistles in the Abashevo village, Penza region were replaced by painted toys in the 19th century. The brilliant master Timophei Zotkin, who enriched both the range of characters and the painting with bright enamel colors of deep tone, worked here in the 1970s and 1980s. Among the statuettes there are a lot of fairy-tale images of animals and birds, unusual characters of the master’s own compositions.
