Arkady Plastov, without fail, spent the summer in his native village of Prislonikha. There he built a studio and painted people whom he had known since childhood, his acquaintances and his favorite landscapes. Each subject is a memory of an experience. In each painting, the focus is not an impression of a single day, but an entire stratum of life, which is where many of their titles come from: Spring, Midday, Youth, Summer.
