This painting belongs to a series of works inspired by nature and views of the Trinity Lavra of St Sergius outside of Moscow. The artist “fractured” the autumnal decoration of the forest into separate bright fragments, creating something similar in its decorativeness to a unique mosaic panel, where each brushstroke begins to resound like a bright piece of smalt.
