350 years since the birth of Peter the Great

The teaching staff of the V. E. Tatlin Children's Art School No. 1 in Penza visited the virtual tour "Peter the First. Time and environment". The tour gives an opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition, which took place in Mikhailovsky Castle from December 17, 2015 to April 3, 2016 as part of the "Saga of the Dynasty" project.
June 9, 2022 marks the 350th anniversary of the birth of the first Russian emperor, tsar-reformer Peter I. Peter I's large-scale transformations touched all spheres of public life: the sovereign laid the foundations of the modern state structure of Russia, created a regular army and navy, established a new education system. It was under him that the first cultural institutions were opened: the Kunstkamera Museum, the public library and the Academy of Sciences.
The teachers traveled through the exhibition halls, examined in detail and received additional information about each of the exhibits, among which a significant part is occupied by authentic masterpieces of Russian art of the Peter the Great era. The works are accompanied by annotations prepared by the staff of the scientific part of the Russian Museum and museums that participated in this grandiose exhibition project. The exhibition introduces portraits of Peter I's contemporaries from the "Transfiguration Series", as well as Russian masters I.Nikitin, A.Matveev, outstanding foreign artists who worked in Russia I. Tannauer and L.Karavak. Battle paintings and series of medals are presented.
