In many parts of the Solvychegodsk District, particularly in the village of Cherevkovo, gold embroidery was developed. Every item of the festive costume was decorated with its own local patterns. The front part of a maiden’s band was often embroidered with swans. Unusual breast decorations adorned with birds and trees were tied at the neck.
Long silk headscarves and Jacquard-weave shawls with complex designs — large bouquets and garlands of flowers — often decorated with a long fringe, were added to the costume. Girls often carried several of these shawls at once, folded over their arms
