Painter, draughtsman, theatrical designer, monu¬mental and decorative artist. Studied under Vla ¬dimir Favorsky, Vadim Faliev and Sergei Malyutin at the Higher Art and Technical Studios in Moscow (1920–1925). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1924). Contributed to the Society of Easel Artists (1925–1931, founding member), Izobrigade (1931). Taught at the Institute for Raising Artists Qualifi¬cations (1936–1937) and the All-Union State Insti ¬tute of Cinematography (1945–1972).
